WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE GAME
Vampire:
The Masquerade_Bloodlines 2 is an
upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Hardsuit Labs and published
by Paradox Interactive. The first sequel tried to compete with half-life 2 on
the same day it was released. That’s right it did not happen because the date
was pushed back thus allowing half-life 2 to be released before the first
sequel. After it became successful, the second sequel is on its way. The game
was scheduled to release in March but didn’t and has been pushed back to an
unspecified time later in the year.
Funny thing is that after
competing with half-life 2 for the release, another half-life game, half-life:
Alyx (check out it in the other blogs) was released in April.
GAMEPLAY
Bloodlines 2 is mainly
played in a first-person perspective, alternating to third-person.
The player assigns their character one
of three class with unique and upgradeable powers before later joining one of
five Full-blood clans. Before beginning the player can create a vampire
character and select the character’s background that informs who they were as a
human. So basically you but better
because the character is a vampire. After that, the gamer must choose from
one of three upgradable Disciplines (vampire powers)
Chiropteran: the ability to glide and summon bats.
Mentalism: the ability to levitate objects and people.
Nebulation: the ability to summon mist to attack, conceal the character, or transform into
mist to move through small spaces.
The Character can
eventually join one of five Full-blood clans, after which they have access to
its specific disciplines and upgrades in addition to their original disciplines.
The Five clans and skill
The Brujah: Use physical strength for damage and speed.
The Tremere: Use blood magic combat and enhance their senses.
The Toreador: Use to control other characters.
The Ventrue: Use to deflect or absorb attacks.
The Malkavian: Also control.
The player can engage in
side missions away from the main story, some of which can be discovered through
exploring the map. The player possesses a mobile phone and can text non-player
characters to obtain information leading to other missions.
The player can also decide
to be violent, stealth or even seduced with sufficient abilities. Blood is
necessary for survival and the player can feed on living beings, rats, blood
bags taking some or all of their blood. Strong senses can be used to sense the blood of human
victims, indicating their current emotional states, such as fear, desire, pain,
anger, or joy.
Players are penalized for using abilities in front of witnesses; exposing their existence eventually alerting the police. Repeatedly violating the masquerade results in human civilians choosing to avoid the streets entirely, and the player being hunted by other vampires.
