ABOUT THE GAME

Almost all of Tokyo's residents have mysteriously vanished, and otherworldly spirits (dubbed Visitors) have infiltrated the city. The supernatural abilities of the player character begin to manifest. As the player battles the spirits that haunt the city, he comes across a group wearing Hannya masks who may reveal the mystery behind Tokyo's strange events.


 

GHOST WIRE: TOKYO is an action-adventure video game played from a first-person perspective. To defeat the ghosts and spirits that haunt Tokyo, the player can employ a variety of psychic and paranormal abilities. 




Combat director Shinichiro Hara described the combat as "karate meets magic," with the player character casting spells using hand movements inspired by Kuji-Kiri hand gestures.



When an enemy loses most of its health, the core of the enemy is revealed, and the player can use takedown moves to destroy it, defeating the spirit.



During its reveal in 2019, it was explained that Ghost Wire isn't like the survival-horror games that Tango Game works is known for.



The gameplay reveal trailer reveals that the game will be played in first-person, and our protagonist appears to be wielding a variety of magical abilities via hand gestures. Think of it as a more complex version of Skyrim's spellcasting.
